Configuring geo-fence-based punch-out may create attendance-related issues. For example, if a user moves out of the geo-fenced location for any reason, the application may automatically perform a punch-out. In such cases, the user would need to contact the administrator to reset the attendance or allow punch-in again. Additionally, as observed with the current Auto Check-in/Check-out feature, factors such as inaccurate GPS readings, poor network connectivity, or device-specific location behavior can sometimes trigger an automatic punch-out unexpectedly, leading to incorrect attendance records.
On the other hand, if punch-out is configured to be performed manually only from within the geo-fenced location, users who forget to punch out before leaving the location will not be able to perform punch-out after reaching home or any other location. In such cases, the automatic punch-out will also not be triggered, resulting in an incomplete attendance record for the entire day.
Therefore, implementing geo-fence-based punch-out is not recommended, as it may lead to incorrect attendance records and frequent administrative intervention.
